2018 Christmas Market

On Saturday, December 15th at Sacred Heart Academy and Sacred Heart gym was transformed into a beautiful Christmas market paradise. Children were treated to Christmas crafts, cookie decorating, pictures with Saint Nicholas, a kid’s shopping and wrapping area. While the kids were having fun in the academy, their parents were shopping for their kids in the gym. The parents can also stop by the wrapping stations to have toys wrapped in beautiful paper and bows ready to be placed under the tree. While they shop, parents enjoy Christmas songs and carols provided by musicians and singers from our parish.

New unwrapped toys are donated by parishioners, the academy and business sponsors and offered to parents at greatly reduced prices.  We believe that too many forces in our society already undermine the critical role that parents must play in the support of their children. We seek to reinforce the idea that parents are the first and normal providers for their families. So in asking them to purchase gifts at a token cost, it will be the parents themselves who will give the gifts to their children, rather than an institution outside the family. Our goal is to bring the joy of Christmas to their families as the Magi did on the first Epiphany.

The event helped over 40 families with more than 140 kids who are experiencing challenging financial times.  Thank you to our business sponsors who helped make this event happen.
