14th Annual Keep Christ in Christmas Card Design Contest

The Sacred Heart Knights are proud to offer their 14th annual Keep Christ in Christmas card design contest for kids from pre-school to 12th grade. Winners receive cards with their designs ready to be sent to friends and relatives. Contest details available here.

Starting in October, the Knights will also be selling Keep Christ in Christmas cards with winning designs from prior years. Profits from these card sales will benefit the art programs at Sacred Heart Academy.

2020-2021 Council Essay Contest

The Sacred Heart council will once again be sponsoring the Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship essay contest. Last year, three of the winners from Sacred Heart council #13641 were also recognized at the state level and went on to compete the the Knight’s international competition.

Dates for this year’s council contest:

September 14th – competition announced

October 30th – all entries must be submitted

December 10th – council winners announced

Father Michael Goodwin

Congratulations to Father Michael Goodwin who has been supported through our council’s RSVP program since 2016. On Saturday, June 6, Father Michael Goodwin and two other men were ordained our diocese‚Äôs newest priests by Bishop David Walkowiak at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Our council has been blessed to know and support you throughout your journey to the priesthood.

Masculinity In Today’s World

The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus have been reviewing “The Virtue of Masculinity” by Dr Tim Gray at our recent monthly meetings. We feel that this topic is so important in today’s world that we are inviting all the men of Sacred Heart parish to join the Knights when Father Ron addresses us on this topic, Monday, May 11th. The Knights of Columbus supreme council has also provided a Lenten resource which addresses what it means to be a man in today’s world.  Into The Breach is a new 12-episode online video series to help men prepare for Easter. Watch and share the episodes now!

2019 Essay Contest

The Sacred Heart council received an update from our state council stating that Sam Blouw, Gianna Dugan and Liam Regan had all been recognized at the diocese and state levels and were being entered in the Knights’ international essay contest finals. Congratulations to our council winners as they move on to the higher level competition.

The Sacred Heart council is proud to announce the winners of our council Knights of Columbus Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest:

  • 8th grade – Perpetua Phelps
  • 9th grade – Sam Blouw
  • 10th grade – Gianna Dugan
  • 11th grade – Liam Regan

These winners were selected from 80 entries. The council contest is part of the essay contest sponsored by the Supreme Knights of Columbus. The Sacred Heart winners the move on to the diocese and state competitions. Winners at the state level are entered in the international level competition.

Please Pray for Our Bishops

As bishops from around the world meet with Pope Francis, the Knights of Columbus will begin the Novena for Repentance, Renewal and Rebuilding. The bishops meeting will run from February 21 – 24 to discuss the sexual abuse crisis. The Knights of Columbus ask all Catholics to join us as we embark on this nine day novena of prayer for the success of this landmark Vatican meeting. Please see attached novena prayer card for prayers for each of the nine days.
