Sacred Heart – Knights of Columbus

The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus are proud to help sponsor the 2018 All Saints Party on Wednesday, October 31 following the 5:30pm Mass. Kids and adults are encouraged to attend in their favorite saints costume. Dinner, costume contest, kids games and treat bags will follow Mass.

The Sacred Heart Knights thank everyone who participated in our 14th annual Sacred Heart Baby Bottle Boomerang.  On November 15th we delivered $2525 to HELP Pregnancy Crisis Aid.  This brings our 14 year total to over $28,000. 2017 Boomerang details are available here.

Thank you to all our supporters at Sacred Heart who helped the Knights collect just over 2500 diaper and other baby supplies during this year’s Thank You Mom campaign. This brings our four year total to just under 13,000 diapers.  We greatly appreciate your help in supporting babies after they are born. We received the following note from the director of HELP Pregnancy.

To Fr. Sirico, Knights of Columbus and the Parish of Sacred Heart~

Thank you for your generosity in celebrating Mother’s Day with your Thank you MOM Diaper Drive. Diapers are the #1 baby essential, they are so important in our mission to moms and babies in our community. In 2017, to the present moment, HELP has given away 82,632 diapers, because of your thoughtful support we can meet this need with love and compassion. Great job putting words into action for LIFE!

May the blessings you bestow on us return to you a hundredfold.

HELP Pregnancy Crisis Aid  

In this time of crisis, with religious faith and family life under attack, faithful Catholic men are needed to heed Jesus’ call to do His work. Men are called to act as strong leaders, showing their family the importance of living their religion. The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus would like to thank all the dads in our parish for everything they do. We’d like to extend a warm welcome to all fathers who might consider joining our brotherhood. As a Knight of Columbus you serve the parish and our academy in many ways and are a visible example to your children and others in the parish that men play a critical and dynamic role in the faith of their families and of the parish community. Happy Father’s Day!

On Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 Michael Steffes was ordained at the Cathedral. Our council was proud to support Michael Steffes in 2015 through our Funding a Future Father seminarian program. Check out a video Michael made for us back in 2015. The Sacred Heart Knights are proud to have supported the following priests through our seminarian support program over our fourteen years of our council; Rev. Aaron R. Ferris – Ordained 2009,  Rev. William R. Vander Werff – Ordained 2015, Rev. Daniel Schumaker – Ordained 2016,  Michael Steffes – Ordained 2018. We have recently been supporting seminarian Michael Goodwin who was ordained a deacon earlier this year.

The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus helped plan and support the 2018 Corpus Christi procession. On this procession we bring Jesus to home bound parishioners. A potluck celebration followed the procession in our courtyard. Sights and sounds from this year’s procession.  View pictures from our 2017 and 2016 processions.

In May the Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus celebrate all mothers with our Thank You Mom campaign. In addition to collecting diapers for the moms supported by HELP Pregnancy, we celebrate and salute all moms.
