Sacred Heart 2016 Christmas Market Was Very Very Merry Success

The 4th annual Sacred Heart Christmas Market took place on December 10th. Many families with well over 100 children who are experiencing difficult financial times were invited to the Christmas Market. Sacred Heart parishioners and local businesses donated toys for the Christmas Market. Parents purchased donated gifts at a token cost. Children were treated to pictures with Saint Nicholas, seasonal Christmas treats, Christmas carols and craft making booths where they made presents for their parents and other Christmas related items.

We believe that too many forces in our society already undermine the critical role that parents must play in the support of their children.  We seek to reinforce the idea that parents are the first and normal providers for their families. So in asking them to purchase gifts at a token cost, it will be the parents who will give the gifts to their children, rather than an institution outside the family.

The Christmas Market is a joint effort of the Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Academy, Sacred Heart parishioners and our many business sponsors in the community.

Seeing the joy and smiles on the faces of the families who attended put many of the workers in the Christmas spirit and made all the work worthwhile.

Thank you to all the local businesses who donated to help make the Christmas Market a success.
