The Sacred Heart Knight of Columbus sponsored our 2017 council soccer challenge on September 11th. The competition was open to all kids ages 9 – 14. Father Rock started the event with a prayer service praying for peace in the world and for those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
All participants took 15 penalty kicks at our goal in the Sacred Heart green space at the corner of Dayton and Valley. Participants were scored 5, 10 or 20 points per shot depending on which area of the goal they kicked the ball through. Winners of the council competition automatically move on to represent our district at the diocese competition in October at Muskegon Catholic Central.
