On November 9th over 100 guests tasted numerous chilies and helped raise funds for Sacred Heart Knights charitable events like the 4th Annual Christmas Market, Saluting our veterans through the Blue Star Mothers or the Sacred Heart All Saints party.
In the business division, Two Scotts Barbecue won for the second straight year. Coming in closely behind were the Holiday Bar with their spicy New Mexico Style Green Chili and Harmony Hall’s Brownson Chili. All the business chilies went quickly and were a big hit.
If you like the spicy, meaty or tangy chilies there was something for everyone. Parishioners chilies included Warms Your Heart chili, Flip yer Kilt chili, Nobody But Us Chickens chili, Pumpkin Patch chili, Killian’s Rush and Deer Camp chili. Taking home the individual parishioner chili award for the second straight year was Cheri Phelps with her Lift yer Kilt chili. Also helping out with parishioner chilies were Ron and Patti Wiktorowski, Theresa Remington, Barbara Menardie and Regan LaMothe.
In addition to the chili, the Knights provide taco chips, cheese, sour cream, jalapenos and corn bread.
Thank you to everyone who attended and all the business and parishioner participants who donated large pots of chili for your tasting enjoyment. Please keep these businesses in mind when you are thinking about a dinner on an upcoming cold winter’s night.
